Tottenham Looking For a Keeper Coach
Tottenham boss Juande Ramos is scratching his head trying to find someone to train poor Paul Robinson, whom has not had a dedicated goalkeeper coach since Martin Jol left the club last year. Some fans questioned whether the poor form displayed by Robinson was due to former goalkeeper coach Hans Segers' influence on the 28 year old England international?
Ramos shot down the talk that it is not anyone individuals fault for Robinson's poor form, but, it is a team effort, with the core of any mistakes created by a goalkeeper being measured by the effectiveness of the defensive unit as a whole, as follows:
"The whole team gives away goals not just Robinson"...followed by, "The defenders and the goalkeeper have to solve the problem, especially for set-pieces where we have almost everyone in the box. It's not a question of bad positioning or being caught on the break."
Now the analogy is a great one to heed for any goalkeeper whom feels that sometimes his defense blame the finger pointlessly. But, back to goalkeeper coach Hans Seger's and his possible influence on Robinson's poor form...maybe he was already a little frustrated with the whole goalkeeping situation a long while before he decided to move on from Tottenham, as this video shows Segers dishing out some pain on a poor chair:
Yeah...he's definitely a goalkeeper.
