The Wall: Matteo Sereni Of Torino FC

With a swath of transfers under his belt since starting his goalkeeping career in Italy, Matteo Sereni may not be the first name you think of when it comes to the upper echelon of professional football. His performances for Torino FC over the past year have been sublime, and have gifted him the nickname "The Wall". That nickname is justly deserved, after seeing the following video.

Sereni utilizes his parrying and quick reflexes to get to that elusive shot, and he does it well. Something to note from the video is his great knack to utilize solid positioning and timing to align himself well off his line during attacking play. Although typically the parry should be a last resort (a goalkeeper should look to catch the ball at all times), Sereni utilizes the parry to great effect alongside his ability to recover from the initial save.
